Elmi: Not really actually, I just added another L, semate2 nak nampakkan ayat ROLL … roughly the meaning of the bladerollogist is combination of “BLADE ROLL” “OGIST, someone doing study to discover something new”. Like Einstein!

Nic: Where did you get this inspiration from?

Elmi: Arlo Eisenberg camp...

Nic: How long was the planning?

Elmi: The idea was there for a year already, but the whole process took roughly 3 month to get everything together.

Nic: Consider you’re a big event boy now?

Elmi: That’s rubbish!

Nic: How many man powers involve?

Elmi: On the event itself around 4 people Erry, Syam,Fizi and my back bone for the event is Meme). Edosh help me out on my grammar and paperwork, bit rough on my French sorry for that. Need a PA...thanks to Sukeat and Idroose that contributed so much for the event.

Nic: what made you think of camp? Why camp?

Elmi: Is great to see all the rollerbladers in Malaysia together gather, gossiping, talking shit, getting drunk with free Red Bull, sharing the same passion, to have pleasure, shower together, share same boxer ha-ha... and just to have fun.This camp is the best way to mingle around with your local idol and friends whom you just met. This is the way to keep rollerbladers active and back join the scene. This camp means a lot to the local scene.

Nic: what were the activities during the camp?

Elmi: we had video premiere (nimh) which no longer exist...sadly... at the park we had ”trick sharing”

Nic: What is trick sharing?

Elmi: Basically skate clinic.

Nic: That’s all??

Elmi: We had competition for the grommet and night ledge battle (Iju) rollers, kita dapat sambutan yang menggalakkan daripada penaja, hadiah terlebih2 on the event itself we decided to make a competition for the OLD! (Luie). Joggling...

Nic: Joggling?

Elmi: It’s jogging and rolling together and of course rolling AM to PM with some sick audio system bang.

Nic: Any future plan bladerollogist?

USD Carbon 2 Skate Preview

How does the cuff system work and does the skate use a liner?
Oli Benet: The Carbon skate was loved by most, but we always pay a lot of attention to feedback, not only from our team but also from our customers and online. We like to make the effort to improve all we develop, and that is exactly what we have done here.

Some skaters had an issue with the flex on previous Carbons, especially the front-back flex. The lack of a separate cuff was seen by an advantage to some, but many preferred the feeling of an independent cuff piece for more variable support, especially noticeable on jumps and landings.

We tested many, many different hardness and styles of cuffs throughout 2010 and have found the cuff that all our testers like the best. It’s a perfect balance of flexibility and support, and the overall carbon experience is said to be much, much better. All our riders are unanimous on this.

This new cuff is also complimented with a brand new one piece tongue which is 100% pre-shaped and includes all new flex-cuts to harmonize the flexibility with the cuff and boot, as well as improving comfort and supporting natural movement.

What materials are used?
Basically the same material as used in the first Carbons, tough and strong full grain leather along with special nanoleather in some panels. Cuff is made out of a PU blend.

Has sizing changed? Has the weight changed at all from previous models?
Sizing is the same as the previous USD Carbon skates. Padding has been improved, especially around the ankle and heel area for more comfort and improved heel fixation. The weight also remains the same, or with negligible difference.

What are all of the changes that have been made to the skate?
The main difference is the new and improved buckle, liner and padding and of course the new cuff. We have also improved the stitching on the leather outer, and have reverted back to the strongest leather material that can be used on a skate boot.

We are also really pleased with the new tongue the skate boasts and we really think you will notice the difference.

What’s the best feature of the skate?
Well, just as its Carbon predecessors it can boast 1 boot per size, something almost no other brand or boot can.
It is very small and close fitting to your feet, allowing for unbeatable control. It’s the lightest boot on the market, and it looks great.
It has been tested by many of the best skaters in the world to find a perfect balance between weight, support and comfort.
It is also the only aggressive skate made of Carbon.
What more can you need!

For someone that hasn’t tried these new skates, what are they most comparable to?
Hard question to answer. I would probably say they are closest to a Salomon skate, as Salmons were always small, one boot per size, comfortable and very precise.

When should we be expecting these new skates?
Current ETA is mid November.

There has been a devastating fire on the site of the skatepark, the skatepark has burnt down and it will not be possible to hold the skatecontest there anymore.

Right now Jojo is scrambling to organize a whole alternate programme. And it has been decided that the contest will move to the Area 51 skatepark in Eindhoven.

last sunday, me and the rollers boys met up at m.kiara skatepark for a lil street session.
sun up and everyone looking forward for the session. first spot of the days was setiawangsa, at this round ledge, we waxed it, but was unable to skate it cause of the hard surface, Then move to this abandon parking lot. real nice spot in there. few falls and laughters.. but ended sweet :)

sorry for the late update..
On the 29th nvmber me and my crew had a booth during the event, we had to wake up around 8 ish even though waking up that early we still didn't make it on time, the event started at 10a.m, we got there at 11, well an hour late, not so bad. The setting up was quick cause of the help i got, and the spot i got was real nice. We stayed there till 7 ish p.m it was hot in the morning till 4 then it started raining so it cooled down abit. but we were still sweating , had to change shirt. overall it was SICk !!!!... would like to thanks all the crew Lee, pz, azfa, manso, fifie, kojack, so many of u guys.. u no who u are.. LOTS of LOVE to all iCe&co supporter that day... THANK YOU VERY MUCH for coming and buying our product.

Putrajaya Xtreme Challenge 2008

The Putrajaya Tourism Council with the help of Pa’din is putting together a skate comp on 20 & 21 Dec 2008 (9am - 6:30pm) @ Dataran Putrajaya; near the Palace of Justice in Precinct 3. The Putrajaya Xtreme Challenge 2008 comp will feature a handrail style competition with specially designed rails for bikers (handrail with iron netting), boarders (flat topped wilshire rails) and bladers (round and long p-rail - TBC). There’s also a shuffle dancing & RC car comp is thats your kinda thing. Over RM10k in cash and products are up for grabs!
